Please note that Synology NVR's are supplied without hard drives. We recommend the WD Purple HDDs for this product.
The FS3017 uses RAID F1 to alleviate the worry of all the drives failing at the same time, by unevenly distributing workload to the different drives in order to improve the resilience of the device.
